Hello, all!! Book club's a little later than usual today because I've had a very long weekend (Not in a fun vacation way but in a "I didn't burn down anything OR curse anyone out. I am in fact the Strongest Warrior" way.)
So I was too tired to do it last night (Like I usually do) and I slept in later than usual. BUT I'm still here, typing with no coffee in my system because that's how dedicated I am. So let's talk books.
So this week, I haven't read much, due to the assorted fires that have popped up in the past week but I did pick up some audiobooks from Libby. One of them is Charlotte Illes Is Not a Detective about a former Child Detective who's now an adult and I don't know if it's the narrartor or the writing style but I'm not feeling it. The narrator isn't particularly lively and isn't doing voices for other characters so it's not doing anything for me. As for the writing, I have a weird thing where if it reads like I wrote it, I'm kinda turned off by it (I KNOW IT'S WEIRD AND PROBABLY WRONG OF ME!! I'M WORKING ON IT!). I'm giving it 10% before I decide to DNF it.
Thankfully, I've mostly fought the temptation of requesting anything on NetGalley but there is an audiobook I want so we'll see how that goes.
What about you all? Anything good?
