Hello, all and welcome to Book Club! We're approaching Thanksgiving here in the states. While I don't celebrate the holidays, I just wanted to send my love to those who do and have to deal with their cra- I mean, problematic family members as well as the IRL stores. I just wanted to say you got this! I believe in you, avoid the bookings, beloved!
So um, yeah. Books!
So good news, my ear/tooth feels much better. I still have some pain but it's only about a 4 vs the 6-8 I was dealing with before.
That said, my reading has been slowed because I've been catching up on sleep and trying to claw out of the stank mood I've been in. It's slow going but I'm getting there, I think.
I'm abotu 5 % into the MF Doom biography and I can tell it's gonna hurt. Doom was around the same age as my siblings so I'm catching a lot of the references the book is making. They've mentioned other hiphop figures who's passed and I had to pause when they mentioned MCA from the Beastie Boys and Big Pun. If I can get through it without crying, I'm counting it as a victory.
Also making some progress in Jewel Me Twice but nothing to report back yet.
